lyrics

My daddy left me when I was three,
He went to the jungle to see what he could see,
And he found a lot of things there including himself
I haven't talked to him sense I was twelve,
now my 18th birthday is coming up
and he swore to me that he would fly down
the telephone rang and I spilled a cup
I picked up the phone and started wiping the ground
he said
"I don't know how to tell you this no,
I don't know but I'll tell you that I'm not sure how
I'm going to make it down. But I'll tell you this little man
I'm going to do the best that I can"
another two weeks went by
and I still haven't heard from the guy cause
he's running through the jungle with monkeys and snakes and spiders
when he gets home hes going to have a glass of apple cider
I got a post card with a dog riding a skateboard, it said
don't worry buddy I'll be home for your birthday.
